I’ve spent the last few months collecting up empties to show you! I’m very excited to show you them…and finally throw away the bottles! Before we get into it I just wanted to say that all products that I have bought had been under the influence that they were cruelty free brands. Some of these brands have some blurred lines – I have added information on this for those products. All products other than the bath bombs (Christmas gift from my lovely boyfriend) I have bought myself.

Winter Jasmine shower gel from The Body Shop – Cruelty free and Vegan
I got this around Christmas time as it was apart of their limited addition Christmas range. The Body Shop shower gels smell amazing and I love the smell of jasmine so I thought this was going to be right up my street. However, it didn’t smell how I expected it to. I don’t really know how to describe the smell but it smells to me like a deodorant that my dad used to wear. Smelling like my dad isn’t something I really want in a shower gel but it doesn’t smell bad or manly. It does it’s job of cleaning and gets very bubbly. I’m just disappointed it didn’t smell how I expected it to. I’d give this a two and a half stars out of five and would not purchase if they brought it out again.

Soft and Gentle Deodorant – Cruelty Free? (no symbol on packaging)
I have checked Soft & Gentle’s FAQ on their website about whether they’re cruelty free. It says on the website “Soft & Gentle does not undertake animal testing or commissions others to do such testing on our behalf. This has always been our policy. The safety of our products is assured by rigorous procedures using data from suppliers and the most up-to-date information from the scientific literature available in the public domain. We support programmes to develop alternative methods to reduce, refine and replace animal testing.” From my understanding of this Soft & Gentle are cruelty free however it doesn’t seem very clear about the ingredients used being cruelty free. There is also no cruelty free leaping bunny on the packaging. It’s a shame that it isn’t clear as I really liked this deodorant and would love to continue using Soft & Gentle products. As it isn’t clear I am no longer going to be using their products until they can give more clarity and add the leaping bunny to their packaging. 3 out of 5 stars.

My Little Star Superdrug Sleeptime Baby Bath – Cruelty Free
I bought this because it was cheap, on a two for one offer, cruelty free and gentle on skin. I believe it was 99p – I have tried to check the price on the website but for some reason its not on there. It smells okay – a bit like baby powder but when you’ve popped it into your bath the smell is barley noticeable. You need to use a fair amount to get some good bubbles going….However I do like A LOT of bubbles in my bath so I did use a lot of this. 4 out of 5 stars! I would of given it 5 stars if it had a nicer smell.

Dead Sea Salt and Witch Hazel Superdrug Face Mask – Crulety Free and Vegan
This isn’t my favourite clay mask from Superdrug but it is good! It was 99p and on a 2 for 3 offer. It smells very earthy and citrusy, and it’s very green! I kept joking that I looked like Shrek with it on!
This particular one is for oily skin. I have combined skin and get oily patches on my forehead, chin and around my nose. However, I did use this mask on all of my face which I probably shouldn’t have done as it left other parts of my skin feeling a little dry. The mask had ripped away the oil from the oily parts of my face and my skin looked very clean and bright. Also, with these Superdrug masks there is more than enough product in the packet to last you 2-3 masks! I give this 3 out of 5 stars.

Beauty Laundrette Detox Crystal Dip Bath Fizzer – Cruelty Free and Vegan
At first I thought this was a bath bomb and was very disappointed by the fact it was very slow at dissolving. Having read the box I realised that it was a bath fizzer and felt ever so silly! It smells okay – a bit like fresh cotton sheets which I guess is the smell they were going for considering their name is Beauty Laundrette! It made the bath a lovely shimmery pink.
I have had another one of these which was a blue and pink one which made the bath a very deep purple.
I found watching them bubble away very mesmerising and my skin felt so smooth in the bath – they felt very luxurious.
I would of given both of then 4 out of 5 stars before realising they weren’t bath bombs, so I’m giving them 5 out of 5 stars.

Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Mascara – Cruelty free? (no symbol on packaging)
I really loved this mascara and found it to be better than some of the high-end mascaras I have used. Its very black, makes your lashes look thicker, longer, non-clumpy and it dries super quickly. Also, the packaging is very nice and feels like a much higher-end mascara than it actually is. However, as like the Soft and Gentle brand Soap and Glory has some grey areas when it comes to whether they’re actually cruelty free. On Soap and Glory’s FAQ on their website it says “At Soap & Glory, we absolutely do not test our formulations on animals, however we can’t say that each and every ingredient that goes into them has not, historically, been cleared for human use by animal testing.” also, they do not have the leaping bunny symbol on their packaging. Due to the unclarity of this I won’t be buying from Soap and Glory until they can say that they are 100% cruelty free and have the leaping bunny symbol on their packaging. 4 out of 5 stars.
